Surah Ash-Sharh

اَلَمْ نَشْرَحْ لَكَ صَدْرَكَ 1

Did We not expand for you, [O Muḥammad], your breast?

وَوَضَعْنَا عَنْكَ وِزْرَكَ 2

And We removed from you your burden

الَّذِیْۤ اَنْقَضَ ظَهْرَكَ 3

Which had weighed upon your back

وَرَفَعْنَا لَكَ ذِكْرَكَ ۟ؕ 4

And raised high for you your repute.

فَاِنَّ مَعَ الْعُسْرِ یُسْرًا 5

For indeed, with hardship [will be] ease [i.e., relief].

اِنَّ مَعَ الْعُسْرِ یُسْرًا ۟ؕ 6

Indeed, with hardship [will be] ease.

فَاِذَا فَرَغْتَ فَانْصَبْ 7

So when you have finished [your duties], then stand up [for worship].

وَاِلٰی رَبِّكَ فَارْغَبْ 8

And to your Lord direct [your] longing.
