Privacy Policy
Last updated 1 August 2026. This covers the website at
quran.rehanify.com and the Android app com.rehanify.quran.
In short: no accounts, no ads, no analytics, no cookies and no data collection. The website makes exactly two kinds of outbound request, both for audio, and only when you ask it to play something. The app makes none at all, because it does not have internet permission.
This website
No accounts, no ads, no analytics
There is no sign in and no account. This site carries no advertising, no analytics service, no tag manager and no third party tracker. It sets no cookies at all.
Nothing you do here is profiled, and nothing about you is sold or shared.
What is kept in your browser
Your reading settings, your chosen translation, your bookmarks, your last read position and, if you use the prayer times or Qibla pages, the coordinates you gave, are stored in this browser's local storage.
That data stays on your device. It is not sent to us and we have no way to read it. Clearing your browser's site data for this domain removes all of it.
Your location on the prayer times and Qibla pages
Those two pages ask your browser for your coordinates because a prayer timetable and a Qibla bearing are a calculation from them. The whole calculation runs in the page, in JavaScript, on your device.
Your coordinates are never transmitted. You can also type coordinates by hand and never grant the permission at all.
The two requests that leave this domain
The scripture, the translations, the fonts, the stylesheet and the script are all served from quran.rehanify.com. Two kinds of audio are not, because hosting the full recitation here is not practical:
Ayah recitation is streamed from everyayah.com, and word by word audio from audio.qurancdn.com. Requesting a file from either of them tells that server your IP address and which file you asked for, as any web request does. Neither is asked for anything unless you press play or click a word.
There are no other outbound requests. No fonts from Google, no CDN, no embedded video, no social widgets.
Server logs
The hosting provider keeps ordinary web server access logs, which record IP addresses, requested paths and timestamps. They are used to keep the site running and are not combined with anything else or used to build a profile of anyone.
The Android app
The app has no internet access
The Android app does not declare android.permission.INTERNET in its manifest. On Android, an app without that permission cannot open a network connection: the operating system blocks it. That is not a setting you have to trust us about.
Every ayah, every translation, every recitation and every prayer time calculation is stored on your device and computed on your device. Nothing is fetched and nothing is sent.
Information the app collects
None. There is no sign in, no account, no email address, no advertising identifier and no analytics or crash reporting library. We have no servers that receive data from the app, because the app cannot reach a server.
Your location in the app
The app asks for location permission for one reason: prayer times and the Qibla direction are a calculation from your coordinates.
They are read on your device, used immediately, and kept on the device so the app does not have to ask again. They are never uploaded, because the app has no way to upload anything. You can refuse the permission and still read the whole Quran, listen to the recitation and use every reading feature. Revoking it in Android Settings takes effect immediately, and clearing the app's storage or uninstalling it removes the stored coordinates.
The other permissions, and what each is for
Notifications so the adhan can appear at prayer time. Alarms and reminders (exact alarms) so the adhan sounds at the right minute rather than whenever the system next wakes. Run at startup so the day's adhans are rescheduled after a restart. Foreground service and wake lock so recitation keeps playing with the screen off. Full screen intent so a prayer notification can show over the lock screen. Vibrate for notification feedback.
None of these send anything anywhere.
What is stored on your device
Bookmarks, last read position, chosen translations, text sizes, adhan voices, calculation method and any manual prayer time corrections are saved locally so the app remembers them. This data never leaves the device and is deleted when you uninstall the app or clear its storage.
Both
Children
The website and the app are suitable for all ages and collect no data from anyone, including children.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the new version appears on this page with a new date at the top. If a future version of the app ever needed network access, that change would be stated here plainly before it shipped.
