Surah Al-Qari'ah

اَلْقَارِعَةُ 1

The Striking Calamity -

مَا الْقَارِعَةُ 2

What is the Striking Calamity?

وَمَاۤ اَدْرٰىكَ مَا الْقَارِعَةُ ۟ؕ 3

And what can make you know what is the Striking Calamity?

یَوْمَ یَكُوْنُ النَّاسُ كَالْفَرَاشِ الْمَبْثُوْثِ 4

It is the Day when people will be like moths, dispersed,

وَتَكُوْنُ الْجِبَالُ كَالْعِهْنِ الْمَنْفُوْشِ ۟ؕ 5

And the mountains will be like wool, fluffed up.

فَاَمَّا مَنْ ثَقُلَتْ مَوَازِیْنُهٗ 6

Then as for one whose scales are heavy [with good deeds],

فَهُوَ فِیْ عِیْشَةٍ رَّاضِیَةٍ ۟ؕ 7

He will be in a pleasant life.

وَاَمَّا مَنْ خَفَّتْ مَوَازِیْنُهٗ 8

But as for one whose scales are light,

فَاُمُّهٗ هَاوِیَةٌ ۟ؕ 9

His refuge will be an abyss.

وَمَاۤ اَدْرٰىكَ مَا هِیَهْ ۟ؕ 10

And what can make you know what that is?

نَارٌ حَامِیَةٌ 11

It is a Fire, intensely hot.
